Program Manager — Jerrold Commons

General Purpose:

The Jerrold Commons site is dedicated to providing shelter and services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Our goal is to problem-solve with our clients and help them become healthy, employed, and housed using innovative solutions. As the Program Manager, you will manage daily operations and ensure effective delivery. Duties include supervising staff, coordinating client services, assisting with administrative tasks, and maintaining facility standards. You will also assist the Site Manager with reporting and liaising with community partners to support the shelter’s mission.

Reports to: Site Director

Salary: $85,000 annual salary

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for the delivery of services in an ethical, professional, and effective manner

  • Oversee case managers and ensure they are meeting deliverables

  • Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms and ensure their implementation

  • Supervise the collection, compilation, and submission of all program statistics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual report submissions to the senior administrative team, ensuring all reports meet funding and legal requirements

  • Coordinate program development in the following areas: job development, follow--up program, donations, food services, volunteers, and recreational activities for clients, and other areas as needed

  • Supervise case management staff and, at times, provide direct services to clients

  • Lead weekly case management/case conferencing with Jerrold Commons case managers

  • Ensure the development and facilitation of workshops and support groups as needed

  • Address client appeals and grievances in a timely manner

  • Attend weekly online companywide case management meetings (Thursdays at 4 pm)

    Ensure data is entered into Salesforce & One System within 24 hrs.

  • Lead monthly community meetings

  • Ensure Carbon reporting is completed monthly and submitted on time

  • Ensure the site is meeting contract deliverables

  • Hold staff accountable to policies and procedures

  • Be present onsite 5x weekly and do surprise drop-ins to ensure quality service delivery

  • Administer quarterly client satisfaction surveys

  • Provide activities for client engagement

  • Upkeeping staff morale

  • Other duties as assigned by the Site Director

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in psychology, sociology or other humanities field required; master’s in social work or a related field is preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of non-profit management experience

  • Experience developing, managing, evaluating, and operating programs serving homeless populations

  • Experience managing multiple locations preferred; ability to travel between locations required

  • Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, conflict resolution, and clinical supervision skills are necessary

  • Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence required

  • A strong foundation in the ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area

  • Multicultural competency is strongly encouraged

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred
