Family Harvest Volunteer

Family Harvest takes place every Tuesday from 10am-1pm and requires a commitment of 3 hours. As a Family Harvest volunteer, you will have the responsibility of:

  • Lifting 15lbs-20lbs of food boxes

  • Standing for a few hours

  • Packing food in bags and boxes

  • Sorting through food

  • Loading up cars with food

  • Working as a team

  • Communicating and assisting with new registrations

  • Supporting the flow of the line of patrons and vehicles

  • Bilingual skills are a plus

Shelter Volunteer - General Cleaning

Join us as a shelter volunteer and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment for the unhoused community. As a general cleaning volunteer, your responsibilities will include wiping down walls, sweeping, disinfecting tables, and cleaning around the building

Shelter Volunteer - Laundry Support

The Laundry Support volunteer role involves loading towels, folding laundry, managing washing and drying loads, and organizing laundry supplies. As a Laundry Support volunteer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organized laundry area to ensure the smooth operation of our programs.

Shelter Volunteer - Supply Organization

The role of the Shelter Volunteer - Supply Organization involves taking inventory of supplies and sorting and restocking supplies. As a volunteer in this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the shelter has an organized and well-stocked inventory of essential items.

Shelter Volunteer - Client Engagement

The Client Engagement volunteer role involves spending time with clients and facilitating workshops for them. As a Client Engagement volunteer, you will have the opportunity to interact with and support individuals in need.

Shelter Volunteer - RSC Project Support

This role involves providing assistance and support to RSCs (Resource Service Coordinators) with specific projects.

Meal Preparation & Service

This volunteer role involves organizing and coordinating meal donations, assisting in meal preparation, washing dishes, cleaning and disinfecting the kitchen, and helping with meal preparation and service to clients.

Organizing Supplies

This volunteer role involves sorting through donations of hygiene items, clothes, cleaning supplies, and other items. Volunteers will also be responsible for rearranging boxes, sorting through expired goods, cleaning containers, sweeping, and disposing of trash.

Hygiene Kit Assembly

The volunteer role of Hygiene Kit Assembly involves sorting through donations, assembling hygiene items for distribution, and collecting donations of items.

Shelter Beautification

This volunteer role involves participating in various tasks to enhance the overall appearance and cleanliness of the shelter. This includes outside clean-up of trash and debris, light gardening, recycling, window washing, sweeping, and light property touch-ups.
