Meet Andrea Taber, Housing Navigator and Community Liaison

Get to know Andrea Taber, one of our incredible employees at WeHOPE at Coast House in Half Moon Bay. A dedicated Housing Navigator and Community Liaison, Andrea has been making a meaningful impact in our community for over three years. Her creativity, innovative approach to finding housing solutions, and passion for community collaboration have been invaluable to the Coast House and the individuals we serve.

Q: Tell us about yourself. What's your title, and what department do you work in?

A: I am a Housing Navigator and Community Liaison at WeHOPE at Coast House Shelter.

Q: Can you tell us what your job entails?

A: My job entails searching for housing and employment opportunities throughout the Bay Area and beyond and assisting guests navigate the application process. It also includes outreach in the community and developing connections with local nonprofits and other community resources in order to maximize support for guests.

Q: How did you come to work in your current position?

A: I have worked at Coast House for over three years and started as a Residential Services Coordinator. I have a passion for developing new and innovative housing options since there is such a shortage of affordable housing in the area. I also truly believe that successful outcomes are a result of collaborating with community organizations and local residents who encompass the same passion.

Q: If you could tell your community one thing about WeHOPE, what would you want them to know?

A: That we value every human being and are committed to ending homelessness with the ultimate goal of securing permanent housing, ensuring supportive services, and assisting in developing a sense of personal value, hope, and self-worth in those we serve.

Q: What's your favorite thing about WeHOPE?

A: I love the diversity of services offered by WeHOPE, including free showers, food, laundry, safe parking, interim shelters, and extensive case management. I also value the opportunity to develop new and innovative solutions.
