Q: Tell us about yourself. What’s your title, and what department do you work in?
I’m the Development Coordinator at WeHOPE.
Q. Can you tell us what your job entails?
I help manage and coordinate various aspects of our fundraising efforts, donor data, donor relations, and campaign planning. From finding grants to supporting events, I work to ensure our mission reaches and resonates with the people who can help us move hope forward.
Q: How did you come to work in your current position?
I began my career in tech as a programmer, but my heart was always drawn to nonprofit work. I wanted to use my skills in a more meaningful way, and WeHOPE allowed me to do just that, combining my skills with my passion for helping others.
Q: If you could tell your community one thing about WeHOPE, what would you want them to know?
WeHOPE isn’t just about services; to me, it’s about second chances, dignity, and creating real pathways forward for people. Every program is designed with the intention and belief that people can thrive when given the right support.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about WeHOPE?
I love all the dedicated and talented people I work with. The team is full of passionate, mission-driven individuals, and the clients inspire me daily with their resilience to want to better themselves, no matter where they started.
Q: Please share any other details about your job at WeHOPE that you’d like our community to know.
What I love most about my role is that it’s a bridge between the mission and the people who support it. I love being part of how hope is communicated and sustained. Behind every campaign or letter is a deeper purpose. It’s meaningful work, and I’m grateful every day to be part of it.
Q: What are you currently reading or watching?
When it comes to watching, I always find myself coming back to Studio Ghibli films. They’re my comfort zone, full of heart and wisdom. Also, I’m currently reading The Little Book of Gratitude by Robert A. Emmons. It’s a great reminder to slow down and appreciate the small things.
Q: Most memorable spot in the Bay Area?
Mori Point. As an avid hiker, I love being out on trails and surrounded by nature, and Mori Point is one of those places that never gets old.
Q: Favorite place to shop?
I collect teas, so I love exploring Japantown and small local businesses to see what new blends or tea sets they have.
Q: Favorite indoor activity?
Baking! It’s my creative outlet and my way to unwind. I’m a total chocoholic, so I almost always find a way to sneak chocolate into my food.
